Since the establishment of Crafts Council of Australia in 1964, craft has been represented as part of our culture, to ourselves and the world. The de-funding of Craft Australia in 2011 has left craft without a national platform.
Conditions change. The end of the mining boom now prompts new thinking about what Australia can ‘produce’. As a ‘third wave’ craft organisation, WoCCA returns to the grass-roots for support, this time using tools kindly provided by the 21st century, particularly social media.
