World Crafts Council – Australia continues the national representation for craft. World Crafts Council – Australia continues the national representation for craft. Since the establishment of Crafts Council of Australia in 1964, craft has been represented as part of our culture, to ourselves and the world. The de-funding of Craft Australia in 2011 has left craft without a national platform.
Conditions change. The end of the mining boom now prompts new thinking about what Australia can ‘produce’. As a ‘third wave’ craft organisation, WoCCA returns to the grass-roots for support, this time using tools kindly provided by the 21st century, particularly social media.
